exciting week! TENG'S 21ST :)
she invited us for dinner at this place called Blue Ginger Restaurant. it sells really yummy peranakan food. didnt take pics of the food though. haha. but it's really good. some of the dishes we tried were beef rendang, ayam panggang (chicken with their super nice sauce), chap chye and sambal terong goreng(which is like spicy fried brinjal). anyways it's really delicious so everyone shld go try it! I feel like going back to eat after a wonderful meal there. the ambience there is nice too. like very olden days feel. coz of the windows I guess. shall post up some photos and u will see!
we got teng an ice cream maker and rolling pin. what she wanted in her wishlist! bought her a card and balloons too. I got it from jp so had to carry it all the way on the train. and I think I pissed off the guy sitting beside me coz the balloons keep flying into his face! oops. I cant control also right. haha.

finally a group photo!!
and got to try Drips Bakery Cafe with teng on friday! yay! saw their tarts and pies so really felt like trying. teng and I decided to make a list of what places we shld try and things we shld do tgt. more to add on to the list!!!
anyways we walked the really long way to Drips from tiong bahru mrt. shld have walked another. oh wells. good exercise I guess. haha. everything there looks really yummy. and I dont mind going back again coz I love the decor too. food and decor niceee
I had apple crumble and apricot tart. it's their special fruit tart. ok I'm such a greedy girl! haha. teng got her pear cinnamon tart. we both had iced tea. teng's one was iced shaken lemon tea and mine is iced apple-infused tea. I guess my tea was more bland and hers is like really lemony and lime tasting.
oh sidenote I love the buildings over there. it's like so olden and a bit cheena. but it looks great. doesnt feel like modern singapore at all!

Apricot Tart which is one of their special fruit tarts. I really love the crust. it's super good. like not very buttery and milky but not plain too. crunchy and niceee. I super love this type of tart. and the apricot is not too sweet but not too sour. hate fruits that are too sour. didn't really enjoy the berries though. I think it's blueberry or blackcurrant? haha. not so sure coz i dont like these berries!
Apple crumble. yummmm. I love all sorts of apple crumble coz it's one of my favourite deserts. needless to say I love the crust. hahaha. that's the part I really like abt these pies and tarts. but this apple crumble is different from what I usualy have. coz the apples over here are like bigger. normally the apple crumble I eat is like diced apples though. teng said she didnt like the apples because they didnt remove the skin. HAHA. but I enjoyed it very much leh. the only bad thing abt this I guess is too much cinnamon. I'm not really a fan of cinnamon. unlike teng! haha. so I didnt really like the strong cinnamon taste. but since it's apple crumble I was quite ok with it :) apple crumble is good no matter what lah. haha.
Pear cinnamon tart. I liked the pear. and there wasnt too much cinnamon so the taste is not bad too me. didnt really eat much of it though. oh the crust base of this tart is different from the apricot tart though! I prefer the apricot tart one. haha.
Iced apple-infused tea. there's a tinge of apple taste only! not like the normal apple tea. I love drinking tea a lot so I like the bland tea taste with just a bit of apple flavour! :)
didnt take a photo of teng's iced shaken lemon tea! but I really like it. not like the normal lemon tea. I feel like it's more of like sweeter version of lemon juice though. cant really taste a lot of tea!
our wonderful tasty treat for teatime :) love the place!
after that went to catch a movie. super impromptu. wanted to study but we got lazy. hahaha. watched Act of Valour. not bad show. but I guess all these is more for american soldiers. nv see such things in singapore though. coz terrorism and all that hits america greater I guess? singapore is under equal threat but we r smaller so I think easier to contain. we dont have that much forested areas and ulu places to hide in. and our security is quite tight! which I'm really thankful for. if one terrorist suicide bomber bombs our country I think we die already. since singapore is so super small. hopefully it wont happen!
next week shall be more of project week since mid terms is over. time to study hard! no more playing k.
