i think primary sch students r having more and more fun in school! u know the school ordered 5 caterpillars for each p2 class for them to see the life cycle of a butterfly. HOW COOL IS THAT RITE? i was so fascinated lah. luckily i'm the teacher. can play with the caterpillar :) ohhh there was one dead caterpillar inside one of the containers. when i held it up the whole class was like EWWW all the way. haha. oh and today i said SHIT in front of the students coz i forgot to give them the form then all of them went ORH HOR... but i dont think p2 students r so innocent lor. according to teng, who graduated from a prestigious pri sch, she knew the F word in p2. oh my!

anyway today i learnt not to trust kids words too much.
everytime they will ask: teacher can i go toilet?
ME: no.
kid: i very urgent!

so in the end when i let them go. they were actually playing with their friends in the toilet! dont think that they will pee on their pants if i dont let them go!

ME: r u sure u handed in ur math activity book to me?
kid: yes.
ME: and u sure i didnt return it to u?
kid: no

so i went into a mad rush trying to find his book. i panic when i couldnt find it in the staffroom or in some other classroom. i even went to the general office to ask if anyone picked up a math book. in the end...

ME: r u sure u dont have ur activity book????
kid: yes.
ME: is it in ur bag?
he paused.
i searched his bag. and guess what TADA HIS MATH BOOK IS INSIDE!!! my goodness! i was super pek chek ttm.

and i ended up marking stuff till 6.45 today because i wasted my only break to search for his math book. oh and also to get the caterpillars! :(

on a side note today was my brother's first day in jc and it brought back a lot of memories when i was in jc. i actually spent a lot a lot of time in sa because i was there for PAE too. i didnt really waste the time i was in sa because i stayed a lot in school. i quite like the school compund although air con rooms r too little! i miss the times in school because it's much better than now. i like studying more than teaching actually. it was fun having lessons with my classmates and having fun in school aft that. i like wearing the sa uniform because it's the best compared to the rest!

the only regret was that i didnt make an effort to listen to lectures and tutorials in j1. didnt really treasure those periods. always sleeping in eery lecture and tutorial. esp bio. if i really listened in j1 i think my results will be a lot a lot better. now i know that these lectures r actually the good for me. i use to really dread those super long days with a lot of lessons but no breaks! but now i dont mind having it back. sort of miss the studying times in jc. so the only sad thing was that i didnt work hard enough in j1. but pw was fun! :D

j2 was a better academic yr for me but not the playing part lah. however i think j2 is still not bad. because i got closer to my frens and actually started listening in class. once i start listening there's a whole new different enlightenment that i received! haha. i'm quite happy with my improvement in chem results because i worked really really hard for it! and math too. but math was more of because of the consultations. ok even though i'm gonna like get a B for math and chem but i'm still happy abt my improvement in the j2 yr. and all the mugging thati did was quite fulfilling and fun. gave me a sense of direction in life. i mean i actually have a goal u know! but this is quite a short term one. i realise now that i really enjoyed gp, econs, math, bio and chem lessons. ok i didnt enjoy the HYPO TESTING and LINEAR REGRESSION lectures. sounded like some long boring non-existence math paper 3! but all in all i'm quite satisfied with the effort i put in during j2 yr. even if i really screw up my A levels i will still be contented knowing that i did try.. putting in maybe 80 percent effort which is rather commendable for me!

ok i think it's quite boring to keep ranting abt lessons and all that but i really miss jc times. all the fun and the really caring teachers. although a lot of ppl might think otherwise but i feel that sajc is a rather good school to attend. i like the values they have and the teachers there. ok but some stuff still need to be changed like u know LATE COMING rules and the UNIFORM rules. yup. they shldnt be so rigid lah! haha. i dont regret my choice in going to sajc. it was quite a wise decision. i'm glad that it's always my first choice :)

so having the new j1s going to school got me really nostalgic abt jc times. i even miss the bus rides to school ok. although it's really long and tiring but there's still some joy derived from these long bus rides :) but PIE AND BKE IS STILL A BITCH OK. seriously. when is the jam going to stop!! ohh but now there's a new one. CHOA CHU KANG ROAD IS THE NEW ULTIMATE BITCH NOW FOR ME!!!! the one at like teck whye/pheonix lrt there!! the jam is like so stupid because it's only 1 or 2 stops aways from my hse but i cant get down earlier coz it's too far to walk back home!!!!! :( hate it when everytime i'm going home this stupid jam hinders my fast route home.

i shld stop here since i'm getting angry blogging abt the road conditions. and my video shld be loaded by now already. :D

it's a super hectic day today!! :( the kids r like seriously sooo noisy. i dont know what's wrong with this class man. and a lot of naughty boys!! even a test they cant take it seriously too. really tiring. i think i will lose my voice soon.

had dinner with teng carmie sheryl jinger and xijin! haha, haven seen xijin is a long time. ate at astons. i really think it's quite good to go there coz the food is like quite budget but nice. ate there like 10000 times already. haha. but it was fun hanging out with them. aft that was a late night movie with teng jinger and xijin. the tooth fairy! it's quite funny leh. the family type of movies but not bad.

anyway having quite a busy week this week. hope that i can meet besties soon since we didnt meet last fri :( sorry i cant make it on almost every fri! but i think we can come to consensus soon lah.

haha ok nothing much to blog abt too. so i will just end here :)

haha. super funny rite this little boy. he will say it differently in like 5 yrs time. and u know what the p2 kids said! "TEACHER UR FAVOURITE ACTIVITY MUST BE TEACHING. BECAUSE TEACHER CANNOT DO ANYTHING ELSE ONE. AFTER TEACHING MUST MARK BOOKS."

wth lah. if it's like that all the teachers can go kill themselves!! u know now the school got some SWC. STAFF WELL-BEING COMMITTEE. organise all the fun events for teachers one leh. dont play play.

yup and someone just told me "i've seen friendships come and go over the years" it's quite sad to see that the older u grow, the less friends u have. but i think it's more of whether u made an effort in keeping the friendship alive. it doesnt mean that aft 10 yrs u separate ur friends and u will confirm grow apart. i'm quite thankful for the few groups of friends i have... i dunno if i can say that aft a few yrs but i'm sure that most of them will still be very important in my life :)

and pri sch besties r my longest friends ever!! haha. sooo it's like really untrue that friendships will fade away over the years. we r friends for like 8yrs?? haha. ok maybe not like full 8 yrs but almost there! i'm really grateful to have such long friends like them. ok but the friends that i know for a shorter time r also great too. like st marg's ppl. we r tgt like for 4yrs already? haha. :D and although jc clique is like shorter but then i believe that our friendship can go on for like really really long.

anyway just feeling that it's a pity for the adults to lose their long time friends just because they r busy. yup ok haha that's all i shall go watch tv now :)

ok another week has passed!!! closer to receiving a levels... :( oh man it's so scary.

today i realised that even though my job is like really tiring but i'm actually quite happy with it. there's really joy derived from the students. like when u teach them it's like quite pek chek at times coz they talk talk talk talk talk non stop and likes to complain to u a lot. but at the end of the day when u realised that they managed to do math qns which they initially dont know or finish writing 10 sentences of journal finally it makes me really happy. the funny thing is that they always complain abt the work u give them! like 10 sentences seems like hell for them u know. wait till they get to jc and try gp. wow. they will kill themselves. haha.

oh and the fun thing abt teaching lower pri is that they r very enthu. they really love to ans ur qns and likes having 'hard' qns! haha. like u know adding by the thousands. it's very enjoyable to teach them and quiz them coz they r actually quite attentive. better than ppl in my class in sec sch /jc. sorry to the teachers but i always nv listen to them during their lessons in sec sch/jc! although their spelling and grammer is atrocious, i really like seeing them writing their journals. there's this innocence in their writing. when they talk abt the things they do, the things they like. it makes me think back to when i was young what do i really like and what makes me happy. i came to a conclusion that the older u get the more greedy u become and it becomes harder to be happy. for young children like them, really really simple things make them super happy! a lot of them talk abt just having KFC/Mac's with their family or cycling with their father. these simple things really light up their lives. from them i can see the importance of their family, how they look up to their parents and older siblings. i wonder what happened to teenagers who get angry with their family so easily and grow apart with their family. a lot of them actually dont talk to their parents/siblings. i think it's quite sad. see the vast difference from young kids and ppl who r more grown up. i prefer the younger ones!

and also dealing with really naughty children! oh man it's terrible. they r like really problematic although they didnt mean it. i think some of them r just hyper active and if u treat them nicely they will be quite ok. but of coz sometimes have to be like really stern to them! kids r actually quite easy to tame. like with sweets or just try to talk to them nicely they will listen to u. it's very fulfilling to see the naughtier children listen to u and do their work. makes me really happy :D and and and i think the best is that these children and also others always greet me, smile and wave to me :) it's very nice to see them do that! sooo yup actually thinking of it this job is quite enjoyable although tiring! the power of kids. haha.

anyway there r like some really really cute kids in my classes!!!! :) :) :) handsome little boys. haha. like them a lot lah. just like BRYAN! :D

ok i think this is a really long post, but it's what i felt for the past 2 weeks. there r still a lot of things for me to learn abt teaching because teaching pri sch is definitely much harder than sec or jc. the classroom management skill is really important with such young kids. haha. ok i shall end here now :)

dont really know what to blog abt. haha. like erm nothing much really happened the past few days lah. really busy at work sometimes and other times it's like so boring nothing to do! :( yar soooo erm went to hahn dong's sort of farewell party on mon. it's more of his brother. then today went to sa open hse. yup actually pretty much nothing happened. and my money is seriously depleting fast. i need my pay sooon!! looking forward to them giving me my paycheck.

oh oh oh gonna learn korean soooon :) :) :) i'm gonna master it and speak like a korean! :D

i'm so glad tmr is going to be friday!!!! yay!! finally. this week is super long. i think coz everyday is really tiring.

although dont really need to wake up early for work but the hours there r like quite draining. but i think it's not bad interacting with the kids although they r a bit too noisy at times! haha.

so mon aft work was getting gabriel's beanie with pin and daryl! then tues was going home but hate the jam made journey home super long!! :( somemore the jam is near my hse. damn stupid rite. jam when it's like two or three stops away and walking is super duper far still! :( wed was meeting up with s19 clique be4 gabriel goes to the army!!! no more hair anymore. haha.

met up with gay gabriel pin daryl and pam for a movie date. sherlock holmes! haha. i didnt quite understand the whole thing coz i think probably it's too smart for me?? anyway didnt think it was very very very nice but it's passable. lunched at pastamania then aft movie off to starbucks to sit down and talk. aft that was dinner date with gay at Just Acia! :D

TUES
went for the staff conference on tues. it's like really quite boring for me. even the teachers were talking among themselves! haha. and i was still thinking like teachers always tell students to keep quiet when they talk but when other ppl r talking they kaki talk among themselves. no wonder students dont listen to them! anyway aft the boring staff meeting managed to zao early. haha. met up with gay at je to head to ion orchard. lunch/tea with gabriel and sam! then off to shop. forever21 was crowded ttm!!!! took so long just to try one dress :( cant stand it lah.

WED
sheryl's hse for the first time! haha. she said very long she wants to invite us to her hse lor. haha. watched this show that teng brought along. quite nice. i dreamt a jeannie. it's like a drama??? no... i think more of like a comedy. hahahaha. super funny man!!!! it's a bit old but still very nice. :)

THURS
last day of 2009. went to orcahrd hotel to meet up with sheryl. then jinger. dinner with carmie and teng too :) :) :) seoul garden! just realised we keep going to seoul garden.











hope that charlene will be in singapore next year at this time so we can spend the last day of 2010 tgt!! haha. but she's in korea! so exciting rite. the best place ever lor!!!

so the first day of 2010 was meeting sheryl carmie teng and jinger too. haha. lunched and talked. :) :) :) very happy meeting up with them. all of us agree that sec 3 and 4 days were the best days of our schooling life!!! :) :) :) haha. all the fun we had tgt was the best lor.

ok hope that 2010 will be a good year especially for the march period. seriously. it better be wonderful ok!!! :) oh and everyone shld go watch 海派甜心. it's super nice ok. so funny lah. and touching at some moments :) shld go watch!!!
